What place is it? I haven't tried many of the cake shops in town.

[ She's not the twin with the sweet tooth, she guesses. ]

It's [ insert cake place name here, I'm not good at coming up with names, sue me ], and honestly their cakes are the best. It's not as good now, honestly, but it's still not terrible.

[ Just going to put another slice of the cake in her mouth to stall, even though she was the one who called Kotone out here. It takes her a bit ]

I had my first kiss recently.

[ There's a bit of a frown there for a moment and she's about to retaliate but instead she just slams her hands on the table, slightly frustrated. ]

What kind of reaction is that? Aren't you supposed to be surprised or something? Like, "I can't believe my sis actually managed to get her first kiss!"

I mean... there've been mistletoe bats all over the place, and you're the kind of person who'd kiss someone who didn't want it, so it's not that surprising?

[ There's also the fact that they're not really close enough to talk about boys they actually like, so she's not really sure why Mio's bringing it up to her in the first place... ]

That's horrible!! I wanted to come clean to my sis for once and this is the kind of thing that I get...!

[ She's tearing up, but it's obviously overexaggerated. That isn't to say that she isn't exactly sad. ]

Geez. It's like everyone expects me to be horrible every second. [ There's a small sigh, a little short thing. ] Maybe I should act like a better older sister if this is the kind reputation that I'm getting from even my own twin.

[ Thanks, she hates it. Fingers drum on the table a little bit impatient, sighing. ]

Did you end up running into one of them, by the way? [ The mistletoe bats, she means. ]

[ She... can't really disagree with that resolution. So she's not going to lie and pretend like she does, but will instead focus on that last question. ]

I saw them around... but I was careful not to get stuck under them with anyone else.

[ She's too much of a romantic to let her first kiss happen by chance. If that meant hiding out for a significant portion of the month, so be it. ]

[ Honestly, it's probably going to be her New Year's resolution! Especially with the whole application doing a bunch of... things. She can't help but sigh in relief though, smiling softly. ]

That's good, at least. They're honestly a huge pain, anyway.

It's annoying, but it's not the end of the world. I wish they would stop throwing things at us, though...

[ That suspicion is creeping back into her voice again. She has no idea what kind of plan her sister's going to come up with, but she can't imagine it's going to be very successful, to say the least... ]

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't change anything...

[ Their family's rich, but at the end of the day, she's a 17-year-old girl trying to threaten an all-powerful organization. Kotone's not buying it. ]

You never know until you try. Giving up so easily isn't my type of thing to do! If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. I'm not planning on doing this on my own.

But what if they get mad and decide to punish everyone involved? Then it's just making things worse

That's "what if", though. We can't move forward based on pessimistic "what ifs", Kotone.

You also can't move forward if you don't think your plan through. There's being brave, and then there's just being dumb.

[ ...She never thought she'd actually be advocating for more planning, but there's a first time for everything? Mostly she just sees this as an all-risk, no-benefit idea. ]

I'm not an idiot, you know... if I'm bringing others with me, it's not going to be with a completely thoughtless plan. I want to pool everyone's ideas together first.
