[ Shion comes to Mion, and they discuss how Hinamizawa has changed in the year she’s been away.

This includes discussing “Oyashiro-sama’s curse,” which refers to a series of mysterious deaths in the village. First the construction manager dies, then the Hojous, and then the village priest. ]

Shion: “Didn’t the village committee people hate the priest?”
Mion: “Yeah. The priest was criticized for being too lenient about the dam project. The protesters were very aggressive toward the end of the dispute, so they didn’t like his soft attitude.”
Shion: "Don't you think the priest was more mature than the others?"
Mion: “...Hmm… If we was really mature, I think he should have cooperated with the other two families. He wasn’t only a priest. He was also a member f the three families…”
Mion: “So I don’t know if it was smart to cause a disturbance when the villagers had to unite and he should've been a role model…”
Shion: "................. Uh-huh."
Shion: "I don't like what you said about cooperation. What do you mean by that? Are you saying he shouldn't have expressed his opinion? He shouldn't have stuck out to begin with?"
Mion: "...I... I don't know... It's just... I thought he should have acted more carefully as a member of the three families... That's what I mean..."

[ Mion falters a bit. ]

Shion: "...Uh-huh. You sound like a grownup now."
Mion: “...Am I thinking like grandma now...?”
Shion: “That’s good. You’re the next leader. You shouldn’t think like the rest. You definitely learned the art of ruling.”
Mion: "I never learned that. I'm just trying to act like her... You can do it easily, too."
Shion: "Aha ha ha ha. I don't want to. It's your role. Well, don't try too hard or you'll tire yourself."

[ Mion smiles gently at Shion to pacify her, and Shion returns the smile. ]

Shion: "Sis......... I mean, [ name redacted ]."
Mion: "...What? ...What is it?"
Shion: "Our separation has always been tough. Our names, the places where we live, and... our bodies."

[ Mion looks down with a serious face... Then she looks up. ]

Shion: "...Maybe you think I'm jealous about that, but I'm not. There used to be some conflicts, but those were small and forgettable. You don't have to feel sorry for anything."
Shion: “Do your best, [ name redacted ]… I’ll do my best as [ name redacted ], too.”

[ Shion taps Mion’s forehead with her fist, and Mion responds by leaning her head against Shion’s hand. ]

Mion: "......Okay...... Thanks, [ name redacted ]."
Shion: "No worries, [ name redacted ]. Let's talk to each other whenever we want to, like we've always been. That'll never change, okay?"
Mion: "......Okay. ......Okay."

[ Mion keeps nodding with her forehead against Shion’s fist. ]
